Meet Lydia Costello, Artist
Lydia Costello is an Irish Classically trained fine artist. Graduating from Limerick School of Art and Design with a BA Honors degree in fine art. After obtaining her degree Lydia began to focus her attention on perfecting her skills as a portrait artist. In particular portraying pets in all there various forms and settings. Although wildlife and figure drawing where also of interesting, pet portraiture have become her main focus. Using the alla prima Italian painting technique to make her pet portraits, really come alive. Her work is rendered in her studio in Co. Limerick by the picturesque river Shannon, along the north Atlantic way. Here she not only renders custom portrait paintings, but observes her surroundings to create wildlife artworks also.
